Ravinia concert surprise!

Adam found out that Laurie Berkner of the Laurie Berkner Band was coming to the outdoor pavilion in our area and we decided to surprise the kids. They had no clue until it was about 5 til show time. They had a blast and so did we. We got lawn seats and took our lunch. Ravinia is great; you can bring in just about anything and the lawn has shaded seats! July 4th fun

Well, we've had our first holiday in Evanston. We missed all of our SC traditions though: the peach festival, the lake with the Vitters family, etc. all in all though it was a great day. We walked to the parade, met a really nice guy who let us sit in one of his camp chairs, I cooked chicken (with Hudson's BBQ sauce...had to get a taste of home:-), corn, and cut up watermelon. We packed it all up with the kids in the wagon and walked to the lake to picnic and watch fireworks. It was a great location bc we saw Chicago's and Evanston's fireworks. The only thing missing was our LUMC crew...but here's some photos so you all can feel like you got to celebrate with us:-)

This is hard...

As excited as we are about the move it is hard to say all the goodbyes. However, the friends we have made in Lexington are like family to us. We will visit for sure, in fact, when we return at thanksgiving we have already included lexington on the trip. Here are some photos of some of the people we love, more will be added soon. One thing is for sure, these people are far more than Christmas card pals they are lifetime friends and brothers and sisters with us in Christ. We love you all, pictured or not.

It's Offical!

Okay, so most of you know we visited Chicago on vacation last week but the news is... We are moving there! Well, Evanston but its an L ride away:-)
Right now all we know is that sometime between now and August we will be there. I'm not allowing myself to think of leaving all our wonderful friends and SC family, after all they are truly friends for life! However, I LOVED Evanston, especially the walkability of everything! From where we'll live we can walk to work, preschool, whole foods, farmers markets, multiple parks, oh yes and school... That's right. My wonderful husband is going to seminary! God is doing AMAZING things in our lives right now and we give him ALL the glory. He is working out everything from scholarships to housing to my job. It's amazing the things that happen when you truly let go and Let God.
